    My service does not recognse .svc files.why is it so? also,in the app.config file i do not get the . thanks in advance

      .svc files are special service files which are hosted in IIS (or the new WCF hosting environment in 3.5). If you aren't running the service in IIS or the host, i.e. you've created a custom service, then you can't use the svc file.
