The experts sure like to dance around this, saying that it's probably because there are more service jobs, construction, etc. DUH --- who works in most of those types of jobs in the SW US??

But, are they legal?  At least residence wise?

Here's the data I was surprised by what it shows. I thought sure JP had it right but the first southwestern state (Arizona) is no better than sixth. If his theory was correct, New York would have more uninsured than anywhere but California.

Heh, interesting... So even CA, with around 6% illegals, has a significantly lower number of uninsured residents than Arizona, with about 4%. Bah, you can prove anything with data.

It really pisses me off when the facts don't fit my preconceptions.

The problem has to be with the facts. If someone could manage to ignore those, life would be nothing but :rose:. I can't imagine anyone that could do that though.

I thought that all the USA was populated by illegal immigrants, except for some fellows living in reservations.

America accepts all who are born on her territory - even the sons and daughters of Canucks - as citizens.
