I sure hope so. I suppose it was Pervez's nukes that made us treat him as if he was more than just another warlord, but it looks as if some realpolitik is about to be put into action.

If that times article is as accurate as the one on the IndyMac[^]collapse, then we needn't worry about it much. Note how the Times conveniently fails to mention that accounts were insured, opting instead to say that people were "disparately trying to withdraw their money". Just the usual fear mongering from the press.

Both are probably true. The ignorant masses were desperately trying to withdraw their money, despite the accounts being insured.

Indeed, but being selectively truthful is often indistinguishable from outright lying, and achieves the same effect.

Why don't you enlist? Then you could show everyone how to be brave.

You mean that dumshit, scrawney assed, fry cook in Ohio? I doubt he even knows where Pakistan is. Couldn't find it on a map to save his food stamps.
If you don't have the data, you're just another asshole with an opinion.

Melting point too high? Too much Lead (or DXM)? solder: an alloy (usually of lead and tin) used when melted to join two metal surfaces

I know what solder is, but you also know what I mean.

Props to you, man. You could've wasted everybody's time arguing that you weren't a dumshit, but you just let it glide on by. 5!

A reason to bring back the draft. I am a tad too old for the draft. ( my hearing disability would prohibit me anyways ;P )

Even if we had the draft again, and got him to enlist, I am sure Uncle Sam would find him incompetent to handle a rifle. Land him some dirty grunt job in the service

There's also grenade training to get through. Heinze strikes me as exactly the kind of doofus who, having been told to pull the pin, drop the pin, throw the grenade, and hit the dirt, would pull the pin, drop the grenade, throw the pin and hit the dirt. . .

When my wife went through basic, she has plenty of doofus stories, not her doings but other people. She told me it was actually the most dangerous part of the six years in the service because of numbskulls.

I wish I coulda said that  But I know what she means. The only time I experienced friendly fire was during a training exercise when a dingleberry behind me and to my right decided to fire his weapon while running forward, with the barrel swinging left and right as he ran. All of a sudden this angry bee goes by my head, from the rear.
