I was trying to change the name of a couple of variables using the replace function in VS2005. I held down Ctrl and pressed H, or thought I did but nothing happened. I tried it again and it worked.....BUT..... I now have a small blue upwards pointing arrow, curving to the right, in the margin that was not there before. I have no idea what it is and have never seen it before. I can't get it to go away and I don't know what it does. So OK   ;P and all that, but can you help me? :-O

Dunno. Obviously not a bookmark if it has an arrow on it. Don't think I've seen that before. Curious to see what the heck you did.

Any suggestions, ideas, or 'constructive criticism' are always welcome.

I believe that what you did was, Ctrl K Ctrl H, which inserts a comment token. All you have to do to remove is it another Ctrl K Ctrl H.

        Roy.

Hey cool Roy. It's a shortcut, and much more useful than a book mark. I shall be making great use of that from now on. The marked line shows in Shortcuts under Tasks. Thanks again. David
