"Pakistan may have to accept politically unpopular aid from the International Monetary Fund to ward off possible economic meltdown, if wealthy nations turn it down, the finance minister said. Pakistani women rally against inflation and debt in Lahore, Pakistan on Friday. Battered by high inflation and a plunging currency, nuclear-armed Pakistan needs up to $5 billion to avoid defaulting on sovereign debt due for repayment next year." Hey Adnan, looks like Allah got it wrong - he made Pakistan collapse! What a perfect opportunity for the West to buy some extra land...we can enlarge Israel. Link[^]

I remarked a couple of weeks ago that Pakistan was in trouble. They went cap-in-hand to the Chinese who turned their backs away. Perhaps they should have seeked out Osama Bin Laden, I understand he was once a wealthy person. Perhaps Islamic finance in Pakistan doesn't work.

Why on earth would you want Pakistan, it looks like one of the dreariest places on the planet, has no reasources, has an insane minority running rampant throught it's hinterland and one of the most corrupt political systems in history. Bloody hell, give it back. It's not a wonder Adnan is such a nutter.

I don't really want it - I'm just giving Adnan some of his own back.

I don't consider fertility of the land a "resource", I meant mineral wealth, or oil of course. I come from Oz - one of the most infertile countries there is but excellent mineral wealth (the only thing keeping it afloat at the moment). I must say I'm surprised to hear that their religious problems are only 5 years old, I was under the impression it has been a major issues for decades at least.
