Very few bother to find the actual mileage of their cars in this country. A full tank of 80 litres keeps me going for at least a week, sometimes more. How much does petrol cost in your respective countries? Where I live currently (UAE) it's around US $ 2.79 a gallon. I am sure is at least 80 cents more than the average price in the US. Gasoline costs more in most oil producing countries than in the US. The only difference is the propensity to grumble ;)

How many gas liters litres does your car need to drive 100km? Or for the US crowd, what mpg do you get from your car?

I don't do much highway (Motorway fukc) driving as I only live 6 miles from work. Presently I only get 24.3 mpg (29.1 mpg fukc). So I'd need 9.7L. But I only need to fill up every fortnight (two weeks fnukc). When I used to commute mostly on the highway, I'd get about 30mpg (36mpg fukc).

About 50-ish MPG? It's about that, 'cause I just worked out my average (around town and stuff) to about 10.5l/100km (27mpg), which is about as good as a 2.0l turbo petrol engine is going to get! Especially with the weight of my right foot...

As I have said in the past, my pick-em up truck has a huge mpg, since it burns emulsified clubbed baby seals. It also has a low CO2 foot print.

I can eke out near enough 550 miles from a 45 litre tank.(assuming I put 50 litres in)(which can be done if you 'spout' it.) And I didn't have to ruin the environment by buying a prius.

Yeah, the issue of batteries does worry me. Most solutions to the oil problem work fine for hippies but do not scale ( for example, where do we grow all the sugar and corn to turn into fuel ? ). I bought the Prius because I really like the car.

Hmmm difficult Question. I don't know what a liter is. My MPG I do know, but I am not one of the US Crowd. Here in UK I can get about 50 to the gallon if it is all motorway at reasonable speed. Around town I drop to about 25-30. This is in a 2.0 Litre Injection Peugeot 206CC [Mod] My Old Jag XJS V12 6.0 Litre managed about 4 to the gallon in town, which is why I got rid of it. A car with two engines is expensive when petrol hit £1.20 a litre!

And only 6 of them claim to understand the rules. Two of them are lying.

In Bullhead City, AZ and surrounding areas it's currently $1.79/ US Gal, down considerably from the $4/gal it's been most of the year. Everywhere else in AZ it's $.25 to $.30 cheaper, and people hereabouts are getting pissed about it.

My small Nissan pickup truck manages to get about 904 barleycorns/cc, but that's with a tailwind, downhill, skidding on sand. Any large, US-made SUV does better. X| On the plus side, it sure looks nice! :-D
