Why is Ilion a twat?

There are many reasons... He writes shite, but refuses to discuss it and merely insults anyone who disagrees with him. (Watch, he will!) He is contemptuous of everyone else here, because his intellect is so immense. (He never graduated) He is constantly downvoted. What seems to be Ilion's problem? According to Wikipedia, 'superiority complex' refers to a subconscious neurotic mechanism of compensation developed by the individual as a result of feelings of inferiority. The feelings of inferiority in this specific complex are often brought on by real or perceived social rejection, possibly as a result of the individual's inattentiveness to hygiene, appearance, or lower intelligence as compared to others. Those exhibiting a superiority complex commonly project their feelings of inferiority onto others they perceive as beneath them, possibly for the same reasons they themselves may have been ostracized, i.e. viewing most, possibly all others as "ugly" or "stupid", and beneath oneself. Behaviors related to this mechanism may include an exaggeratedly positive opinion of one’s worth and abilities, unrealistically high expectations in goals and achievements for oneself and others, the persistent attempt to correct others regardless of whether they are factually correct or not, vanity, extravagant style in dressing (with intent of drawing attention), excessive need for competition, pride, sentimentalism and affected exaltation, snobbishness, and a tendency to try to discredit others' opinions, as well as forcefulness and hostility aimed at dominating those he has convinced himself are weaker or less important. Ilion projects an air of contempt for his fellow CPians and often writes as if he is the only poster who is capable of expounding a particular truth. His words suggest that he becomes livid when there is someone who knows more than he does about a subject on which he posted. He rushes into threads with the deluded conviction that he will be the one recognized as owning the truth. He refuses to admit error, no matter how clearly it is pointed out to him because to do so would force him to give up his cherished feelings of superiority. Ilion is a classic case of the defensive ‘superiority complex.’ His behavior in Soapbox is reflective of the tricks he uses to reassure himself of his importance. His arrogance smacks of the feeling - other people are likely to overlook me. "I must show them that I am somebody important." That is because most all of what he writes is empty worthless rhetoric, lacking direction or factual basis, and is merely an extension of his id. Ego is fine, we all have it, but his is a classic case of delusional behaviour, and overcompensation exacerbated by the subconscious awareness of his own inadequacies in dealing with social situations.

This is dangerous in some personality sub-types, and can be seen as a sign of psychopathy or even sociopathy, although I detect he lacks the backbone to fulfill his destructive tendancies. At one point in the past, everyone did ignore Troy and his response was simply to start new threads with the same post, over and over. Chris slapped him down pretty hard at that time, so he probably would use a different tactic, but I'm relatively sure he'd do something to pay us back for ignoring him.

Actually, sometimes I feel sorrow for the bloke. Not having any real friends, he has to rely upon those internet forums like Code Project and them creationism sites. But I get over feelings of sorrow very quickly when he tries to insult people using asterisks for impact, causing a smile to my face. If only he would show the same degree of professionalism in this forum as he does with his articles, then he would be very much more appreciated and liked.

Likewise, it appears that Mr Abbott doesn't actually have a very high regard for actual women. He claims to find one specific part of the female anatomy to be useful, and appears to be saying that that usefulness is what causes a 'twat' to be not be so bad as that thing (so modest he!) which is "much worse." Could it be that Mr Abbott's regard for actual women extends no further than understanding them to be life-support systems for 'twats,' which he just happens to find useful? What if Mr Abbott didn't think 'twats' were useful? Would he be calling for a purge of women?
