That's easy. Choosing where to draw the line isn't. We can't just say "We'll only send 10,000 emails an hour, first in, best dressed". There are options, though, such as saying you only get an email if you've visited that forum in the last N months. Or I could sell a kidney and just buy a bunch of servers and some serious bandwidth. At least that wouldn't require as much debugging.

Just include a different token in each individual mail, and request the token be returned before you send the next mail. That will dramatically reduce the workload. :laugh:

I use ListBoxes for line-oriented text, and PictureBoxes for pictures, not drawings.

One thing that is a possibility, is only sending out an email for forum posts that have not had any responses in a certain period of time. However, this might also mean the posts could possibly be from forum spammers.

With Yahoo Groups you can also ask to have all new posts grouped in a daily mail. This could be a starter solution. I don't read the newsletter because there are just too many articles (and also because I visit CP daily) but I would appreciate to have a daily summary.

I think the OP's idea was that he wanted notification of a new thread so he could run off and answer the question quickly thereby increasing the chances of becoming an MVP/maintaining MVP status. My less cynical reasoning would be that it is to ensure that questions get answered quickly, thereby aiding those asking the questions.

I didn't used to be this cynical. I only became this way after moving to Glasgow. While the folk here are very friendly (at least on the surface) I always get the impression there is an alterior motive.
