A team of environmental researchers in the US has warned many effects of climate change are irreversible[^] Sorry, is it Global Warming or the effects of Global Warming that are irreversible? The article is already self-contradictory, because surely, the effects of GW are reversible if it gets colder. And as for GW itself, apart form the obvious question, havent they noticed the 7 year cooling trend seen by all the satellites of around 3 degrees a century, if they dont think GW is reversible then clearly there isnt any point limiting CO2. This statement belies that sentiment: "People have imagined that if we stopped emitting carbon dioxide the climate would go back to normal in 100 years, 200 year - that's not true" So go on, fuel up and burn away! You know its good for crop yields and it isnt going to make a blind bit of difference to the climate! Hey, do you think they finally became so extreme in their plolemic that they came full cirle to the other side? Nice pic though. Smoke stacks, and a nice orange sunset. No way they chose that pic to convey a message is there. (They obviously missed the post-war cooling, purportedly caused by SO2 emmissions. Perhaps those smoke stacks should be against a backdrop of icy rain since clearly dirty industry is GOOD for polar bears!) Anyway, 1000 years. Thats a nice round figure isnt it. I wonder if its been calculated?
