It might pay you to learn about the Stanford experiment then look at what KFOR are doing.

I did read a book where some guys role played in a Dungeons and Dragons game and then became fairies. The whole idea that a college student role-playing a position like prison guard sheds light on how people act in real life would be funny if it weren't taken seriously by so many. They acted in a sadistic manner because that's what they think is expected of them. They get their idea of what a prison guard is from movies and TV shows about noble prisoners being put upon by hulking Neaderthals.

That's the point. Do you understand what the experiment claims to have illustrated ? It's that people will act in the way they think is expected of them, and they will pass the moral responsibility for their actions on to those who they believe have preapproved and requested those actions.

The book I mentioned actually goes through three stages 1 - talks about evil in general, questions like, why did the people in Hitlers army all follow their orders, but often show no signs of being psychopathic in general ( how do you kill children at work all day, and go home to hug your own ? ) 2 - goes over the Standford experiment in detail 3 - talks about the Abu Graib torture case, from the perspective of the fact that the author was asked to testify based on his experience, and to suggest that some blame for what happened laid with those who created a system within the prison which made such actions more likely to take place. I should point out, he does not suggest that those who tortured were free of guilt, but that there was a lesson to be learned in how to make such instances less likely to happen.

That certainly does a lot to explain liberalism...

Chaining ourselves to the moral high ground does not make us good guys. Aside from making us easy targets, it merely makes us idiotic prisoners of our own self loathing.

Replacing feuds and snipers with law that allows defence.

It will take more than KFOR before there are no more Albanian feuds regardless of what the laws say. The law that allows defense only makes the snipers legal.
