Anyone here watched the women's and men's finals at the Australian Open? The women's final was such a lame joke, 50-something minutes of nothing but errors and boredom, while the men's (as ever) was 4 hours epic display of skill, ambition and nail-biting action. And this pattern repeats at almost every major tournament there is. What gives?? I hardly remember any exciting women's final except for Graf vs Higis or Venus vs Serena Williams in more recent times. The anomaly is that girls get the same prize money as the boys at all Grans Slams except for Winbledon IIRC. (the English still have their common sense) Who agrees they shouldn't?

Women should get less money, otherwise it would be sexuaul discrimination. For every £5 in the men's pot, women should get £3. That seems fair. Men play 5 sets, the poor wee lassies only play 3, so they would be on the same rate of pay, thus parity achieved, job done, I need a pint!

If the women want equal money they should play 5 set matches, or the men play 3. Of the two I'd go for 3 set matches as I think the suicide rate would rocket if we had to endure womens matches of 5 sets of grunting and bellowing and teeeee-deeeeee-ous baseline ralliezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

They should be penalised for that, there are some players I simply cannot watch because of it (remember Monica Seles?) but apart from that, women's tennis is often very watchable. :D

I think Sharapova was told at a recent Wimbledon edition to try to control herself or she might get penalized for that. Nadal used to be annoying in this aspect, but recently he improved and he only vocalizes at the most extreme points.
