      on err goto catch 1. don't use on error but try catch block 2. I think ,I must be on error goto

        No 'Try' in VB6 :( (I know this is .NET section sorry) Not only do you get 60 points, but you have my full permission to insult my stupidity. :doh: I can't believe I didn't see I'd written "on err" instead of "on error"... Sometimes if you look at something too hard and too long you can't see the obvious, and all it takes is a fresh pair of eyes. Cheers!

            I can't believe I didn't see I'd written "on err" instead of "on error"... Have you ever programmed anything on the Apple ][ series of machines? Those use ONERR.
