One of my coworkers has that on his sig. So far I've managed to resist retorting that I did, and that the fact that his sig will print in color makes his emails worse for the environment.

We're required to at my place of work. Strange, since we don't even have cans to do can/plastic recycling.

My workplace let everyone know about its new green initiative by printing a flier for every person to put on their desk.

I think it's disgraceful how little consideration you give the environment. The environment is Important. Everyone should have that message about the environment in their email signature. In fact, i'm going to print out a whole page of those sigs, so that i can paste them onto emails i print out that don't have it already. That'll show i'm thinking about the environment!

We've got paper (and don't you dare put anything generated at work into anything other than the shred bin), plastic, glass, and aluminum bins across the building. We also have alkaline/nicad battery bins in each of the building lobbies (you're encouraged to deposit personal batteries here instead of landfilling them). There're media shredbins (cds, vhs, floppy, etc) but I don't know if the debris is recycled or not. At the company/facilities level lots of other stuff's recycled as well, not just scrap from the prototype shops. We also host the annual county hazardous liquid waste (paint, oil, etc) free collection event. The offending coworker is part of the EHS committee and might be getting pushed to it by a PHB.

You're kind of missing the point here Shog. You've got to cut some trees down so you can put up big metal signs with this message on - it has to be metal so you're not wasting paper. I recommend deforestation of about 3 city blocks to really show how committed you are.

One of my major clients has just started using that EXACT line on their emails...
