I really need a calculator that shows work for all steps in the problem solving process. I have looked around without success. Are there any calculators online I could download or buy that will show work as if a human completed the problem? It would really be nice to draw numbers and symbols onto my screen and watch it step by step as it solves the problem.

A calculator doesn't solve problems the way humans do. Why do you need this ?

I think it would be neat and a great learning tool.

I think making unemployed people calculate their own welfare entitlement with the requirement that they show all working and give references to the appropriate legislation for each step in the calculation is a fucking fantastic idea.

Fair enough. So, you're thinking of things like algebra, where x + 2y = 8 and 3x/y = 4 ? That would be cool to write, but I don't know of anything that exists.

I suppose Mr Heinze has written something in the past that would make you respond this way, but as a stand alone post your response seems a little harsh. Found Microsoft Math, never even knew it existed. Its pretty neat, you can hand write or type on complex equations like 3x^5(43.4343/4) = 453534x with fractions and all.

I think making unemployed people calculate their own welfare entitlement with the requirement that they show all working and give references to the appropriate legislation for each step in the calculation is a fucking fantastic idea.
