I really need a calculator that shows work for all steps in the problem solving process. I have looked around without success. Are there any calculators online I could download or buy that will show work as if a human completed the problem? It would really be nice to draw numbers and symbols onto my screen and watch it step by step as it solves the problem.

You believe that such work is beneath your dignity. You're not being honourable, you're being a stubborn poor unemployed person.

Its either that or steal it. Might as well steal the legal way. Everyone has got to eat.

If that is what I have to do then thats what I will do. I am a person of integrity (I know no body will believe that) and I do not succumb to what I believe is not right.

In my experience, people of integrity do not inveigh against welfare and then apply for foodstamps.

Doesn't take you through each step to solve, but may be of interest. Mathmatica, solving equations.[^] and overview[^]

Does the current version still dump source code when you enter invalid input? My personal record back in fall 99 was about 20 screens worth. :wtf:

                  Does Microsoft Math do that?

Actually you could volunteer at a soup kitchen, get free meals, and contribute to your community at the same time. I was homeless living on the street in my teens and twenties on and off for a few years. Never filed nor collected welfare or food stamps. I will take unemployment when I've earned it but I draw the line there. But I was able to contribute as a volunteer and be taken care of at the same time. Productive and useful. Plus it helps to be directly involved with many different types of people who struggle today to get a sense of your own situation and how easy you probably really have it. Not to mention losing a bit of self importance that goes along with the self-centric world view that anything belongs to you.

                      This statement is false
