Well none so far - but I don't think people can actually join groups yet... either that, or they just don't want to :) I've wanted to look into high availability systems for a long time, but never found the time - architecture, implementation other considerations (such as multiple location hosting etc); what I'd term an "interesting" project. My meddling with Groovy on Grails led to the Glassfish project and reading the spec I saw that it claims to be a high availability system. An ideal opportunity to start looking at high-availability systems? Anyway, I don't expect to achieve much except perhaps satisfy my own curiosity.

I watched the movie, not the TV series, and except for a 5-minute stretch or two that I found hilarious, it was mostly boring. On the other hand, Mind your language (I actually bought the DVDs here in India) and Yes, Minister (and Yes, Prime Minister) are frickin' hilarious! When it comes to British movies, I immensely enjoyed The Englishman who went up a hill but came down a mountain, and a couple of others I won't name out of embarrassment. Any other recommendations? Fawlty Towers is on my list.

Oh if you like that sort of thing you'll love "The Trailer Park Boys", way to go Canada! I've recently been watching the first two series of "Skins" a serial out of Bristol in the UK, I thought it was excellent.

I never liked "Are you being served", to be honest. It had it's moments, but not my sort of thing.

Every single Britisher I've talked to is almost embarrassed about MYL, and readily declares he doesn't like it. Except one, and he's a Greek Cypriot, whose parents emigrated in the 60s. On the other hand, every Indian I know who's seen the series finds it hilarious. From some forums I came across, it's also true of Pakistanis, Africans, etc. I'm wondering if this is a case of extreme Political correctness on the side of the Britishers? Perhaps the British I met are getting offended on our behalf? :confused:

I barely remember MYL - I don't really watch TV much, but I doubt it's ever been repeated possibly due to PC concerns. The same is - or at least was - true of In Sickness and in Health and whatever the sequel was. Anyway, some more - and better - comedies for you to try: Porridge Rising Damp The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin The Likely lads Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads Auf Wiedersehen, Pet! (this one'll clue you in to what Pete O'Hanlon (probably) sounds like)

Oh, and also: Blackadder (series 2-4, but not series 1). And if you can find it, there was a series in the 80's called A very peculiar practice. Which came and then vanished never to be seen again. I know of only three other people on the planet that saw this when it was on - which is the only evidence I have that I didn't dream the whole program up.
