      You can usually tell that it is installed when your hard drive makes squeaking noises. Seriously though, does google not work where you live?

          One way would be to see if its CLSID exists in the registry. Another would to be check the list of installed apps at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. This approach will not work for all apps, however.
