Once hailed as examples of an American dream that rewarded success with large paycheques, lavish perks and popular admiration, executives and their companies have been caught in the grip of a storm that will revolutionise business. The deep freeze of capital markets, the implosion of financial groups and the resulting rise in governments' sway over the private sector have called into question some of the foundations of Anglo-Saxon capitalism.[^] First step: let's find and hang the ones who promoted that system.

What is it with human nature that people seem to enjoy negative news and events are always disappointed when things get worked out or not as bad as hoped? I've seen silly comments like this one before relating to all kinds of things.

Like Stalin and the Chairman did Karl? Just eliminate everyone who happens to disagree with your political theory?

Sovereign ingredient for a happy marriage: Pay cash or do without. Interest charges not only eat up a household budget; awareness of debt eats up domestic felicity. --Lazarus Long Avoid the crowd. Do your own thinking independently. Be the chess player, not the chess piece. --?

I much perfer our way of business / life to any alternative. the only problem we have with our system is government intervention. left alone, we thrive.

Mike - typical white guy. The USA does have universal healthcare, but you have to pay for it. D'oh. Thomas Mann - "Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil." The NYT - my leftist brochure. Calling an illegal alien an “undocumented immigrant” is like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist”. God doesn't believe in atheists, therefore they don't exist.

I'm sure the Muslims who wrote that sillyness would love to see the "crusaders" brought low and as many of them as possible hung from street lamps. Before announcing so loudly how much you are in agreement with them, you might ask yourself whether the muslims in France will stop to ask you what country you were born in before condemning you on the basis of your fair skin?

Tell ya what. Lets just divide the world in half. Central planning collectivists take one half, free market capitalist take the other, the wealth of the world divided evenly between them and no trade of any kind between the two halfs. And we will just run the whole damned experiment again. The half with the greatest standard of living at the end of, oh, say 100 years or so, gets to hang everyone left in the other half.

Chaining ourselves to the moral high ground does not make us good guys. Aside from making us easy targets, it merely makes us idiotic prisoners of our own self loathing.

The socialists of the past just got it a little wrong and that's why utopia was not realized. The Current Socialists have it perfected, utopia will realized... right after all the (put your favorite group you dislike here) who are preventing utopia are hanged :wtf: The themes sound so similiar over the decades.

I'm sure he just means good old-fashioned "free market capitalism." You know how those Frenchies are.

I'm not Anglo or Saxon. My grand parents came from Russia, so I was wondering if Slav-o-American capitalism was any different then Anglo-Saxon capitalism.
