I didnt read the comments but as a Subject of HRH I'm a big fan. I love the fact Australia has a Queen and would never vote to become a republic.

The royal family gives me a sense of history, pomp and tradition that we as a 220 year old country could never hope to have in our own right.

I would have to walk a mile in your shoes to really understand. I've never been one to hitch my wagon to pomp or tradition beyond customs. As for history, I enjoy it but it's not something that I have ever felt the need to be personally attached. I may not be clear in how I say that but it is hard for me to say what I mean without coming off as flippant.

I think you misunderstand. Australians consider that Australia is a monarchy only in a formal, largely ceremonial sense and is a modern democracy in practical terms.
