I'm hot for teacher. Is it just me, or is all of CP kind of slow nowadays ?

    teacher?

if the "(gazalions online)" control on the upper left is a good indicator :suss:, cp is a busy place. I suppose the only quantitative measure is the hit count on the ads. But as with the forums, when SB was busted up, it was like changing the brand... never change the brand. Coke-a-Cola was never the same after the cocain was taken out.

As always, the ratio of lurkers to posters is high on the lurkers side... however, yes, I do believe it's far quieter now than any time in the past 3 years (since I've been here).

I think the quality of the membership continues to fall. All one has to do is look at the .NET forums to see one idiot after another urgently requesting that someone do their homework. It's not unique to CO, of course. Most of the other unmoderated message boards are even worse - and even the blog comments are being filled with stupidities.

I guess when you have over 6 million members, chances are the average make up the largest proportion!! ;-)

I doubt that. I'd say the number is closer to 5,800,000

It's become very dull and boring since the Soapbox debacle/split/dumbdown: Chris should put it back to how it was: it might not have been the caring, sharing, cuddly place he hoped for but it was fun.

Funny how often he has, with the best motives in the world, done exactly what the people who oppose him wanted him to do. Both the Lounge and the ersatz Soapbox don't seem to have profited much by declaring a ghetto.

SB 2.0 just seems to be the occasional dumping ground for crappy jokes.
