Just had a pasty and coffe at Dartmouth castle, http://www.littlecotton.co.uk/Dartmouth%20Castle.jpg[^] with this view out http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1335/1084610813_2824e9c960.jpg?v=0[^] over the sea. Really, it is one of the prettiest places in the world. (Got back from Capetown a few weeks back, it doesnt compare, even where I live struggles to match this part of Devon.) Wonder why I left ot to live abroad sometimes!

Cape Town itself isn't much to talk about pretty-wise.

I love Dartmouth. It's a beautiful place... and I'm not a Devonian either!

Yeah, I was surprised by it. It was expecting more impact, especially from the sea, I took my dads boat out for half a day from Capetown marina, it is a very industrial port, and once out half way to Robben island the coastline was pretty bland. Mind you the dolphins and seals were amazing! They swam under the bow for a good half an hour. My daughter thought they were very ammusing.

It gets a lot nicer on the Eastern side of the peninsula.

Yeah, Salcombe too further down the coast is also nice, and supposedly Fowey thogh I have never been there. Yep, its a pretty as you could wish for, the south coast of Devon.

Yep. Its the old grass is greener thing. In this case it isnt. (although the wine is a LOT cheaper!)
