Hi, I'm considering going back to school, in order to learn to program. The potential teacher wants to see a quick demonstration of the software that I have written in the past. Unfortunately, those require Interbase 6. Does anyone have an installation-package for me? Many thanks in advance!

Thanks, must have missed the link to the sources. I'm definitely going to take a look into the inner workings  Have just installed them using a Merge Module for InstallShield, those were a free download[^]. Just created a new empty installation with a dependency to Interbase

I would highly recommend using FireBird 1.5.x instead of Interbase 6.0. It is 100% compatible but is better in every aspect. (not to mention that FireBird is still in development, while Internase 6.0 was canceled long time ago)

I've had headaches with IB2009, particularly the console, so unstable, unpolished, unusable X| Currently trialing SQL Manager IB edition, which is much better.

Akirilov, здравей, I'm trying to recover a damaged Interbase 6.0 server running on Linux. Can I replace the Interbase 6.0 server with the latest 1.5 version of Firebird without worrying that the application using the DB would run smoothly. Thanks!

Firebird will fine but if doing this i do suggest firebird 2.5 problems: 0) be aware you can't go back, 1) watch out for UDF changes 2) test on a VM like "Oracle VM VirtualBox" first 3) read about the Meta_data tag in the Documentation for restoring the database. i do suggest using classic server as well as its better suited to multi processor boxes.
