If you're bored, I have an apartment you can come and pack up. I'll let you stay in it for free. In the middle of a nice medieval city, 1 hour 30 mins from Paris. What say you?

I was born the same year JFK died. Have you ever seen the movie "The Eye 2"?

I've been to the grassy knoll and the bookstore museum twice. There was a time that I bought in to all the conspiracies, now I'm not so sure. 9/11 conspiracies have left me doubting all conspiracy theories as probably being full of air if you can get a reliable source of information.

So everyone jumps to me believing in conspiracy theories. Nice. I was asking more about what they thought of his presidency as a whole and what they experienced when they found out about his assassination and about things like the 'Magic bullet' theory claims.

I didn't mean that you believed it, I just felt you had asked people's opinions on it.

Sure, well, that's how I understood you, but I couldn't answer the first, so I only answered the second.

In London, BBC TV announced his assassination and then continued with the scheduled comedy show. I watched the comedy show, then turned off the TV and read.

Since I wasn't alive for it you tell me what it was like during his presidency and assassination? Magic bullet theory, etc.

The sun rose in the east and set in the west. I was a ten year old kid, throwing a basketball around on the school playground on a sunny fall afternoon, Kathy Smith came running out of the school crying, saying the president was dead. I remember my older sister being scared over the cuban missle crisis. Apparently, we all thought we were going to be nuked any minute, since we lived 20 miles from a SAC AFB (Clinton-Sherman)at the time. It was actually a great time to be a child otherwise though. Loved every minute of it.

His election was similar to 0's in that unicorns were supposed to abound and manna was to fall from the skies. His wife, Jackie, set fashion standards and all was well, it was called, Camelot. That stopped when he fucked up the Bay of Pigs Operation and left people to die at the hands of Castro.

It stunned the nation. Christian Graus in the thread above pooh poohs the idea that it was anything other than the work of a lone gun man but the entire event was whitewashed. I am certain that the public has been fed a line that is 50/50 truth and fraud. It could have been retribution for the Bay of Pigs fiasco, could have been a USSR sanctioned event or a union financed and sponsored event. The telling item from my perspective is that a nightclub owner took it upon himself to then assissinate Oswald. Why? that should not make sense to anyone with a measurable IQ.

Not often that people use my full name... :P Well, I wouldn't 100% rule out a conspiracy, I guess I more meant that I am so far from the event that it's hard to feel I can get a balanced account. It's very easy to get the info that proves 9/11 conspiracies to be a bunch of BS.

If there was a conspiracy, it was just opposite of any conspiracy so far put forward, as all true conspiracies are. Consider that JFK was a very conservative democrat. Had either he, or even Bobby, survived, the democrat party could have never become the bastion of hard core collectivism that it is today. So who benefited most from those assasinations? The modern democrat party, thats who.

I was a Junior in College, about 18 months from being given the opportunity to participate in the South East Asian War Games. I had a late class on that day and must've been in the elevator at the moment the news broke. It hit the school like a bomb. No-one knew what to say and we silently gathered around a small TV set in time to watch Walter Cronkite announce that he was dead. I saw pretty much the same reaction when MLK was assassinated, and when Colombia crashed and on the day the Towers fell. It's a truism, but almost everyone older than ten can tell you exactly where they were and how they heard the news for all of those events I watched the killing of Oswald, live. That's when I began to think there was a conspiracy. I still think there was a lot more than we were ever told, and I have a great deal of trouble believing in Oswald's amazing marksmanship. Kennedy was a mixed bag. Smart, charming, and a helluvalot better at making speeches or talking off the cuff than Obama. He got suckered into the Bay of Pigs and really didn't recover his standing as a leader until the Cuban Missile Crisis. I think his building up of the Special Forces "advisors" in Vietnam was a result of the egg on his face from the Bay of Pigs and led directly to our involvement in that civil war. He accomplished little in the way of legislation getting passed during his 1,000 days in office, but he - with his brother Bobby - set this country on a different course with their commitment to Civil Rights. His death, ironically, meant that for awhile, the Congress would give LBJ almost anything he asked for, if he said "Jack would have wanted it this way." Kennedy was one of the last strong-on-defense Democrats (along with LBJ, of course).

We were visiting relatives in Dike Texas (90 miles East on 30 something)... (stop laughing) and decided to see some stage shoots out in the city. We went to see the "Dallas House" (aka jr Euwing and such) in the North East portion of the city. We got out, saw the sites around the house, you know the house is much smaller than you expect. Then we went south to see the grassy knwol, we drove around the block, but dared not get out of the car. The locals are much were much too dangerous, the inner city is much too scary .... for anybody and only a freak'n tard would drive through that area and dare get out of the car. While the rest of Texass I'm sure is nice, this tard will not drive through the city again... unarmed.

I read an interesting counterfactual that basically said that not much would have been different if JFK had not been shot. Not saying it's true, but it's an interesting view I would not discount.
