    So I am R1,600 poorer as of twenty minutes ago. Just got four brand new tyres fitted to my car (went up from 155/70R13s to 175/70R13s, and I already have nice mags.) Anyway so while they were fitting the tyres a bog standard grey Toyota Corolla* rocks up with 19" wheels, tyres with less rubber than a Durex and about a foot wide. These things filled the wheel arches to bursting and I am sure if you swung the wheel too fast, the front tyres would hit the arches! Frankly I thought it was disgusting, it looked totally inapropriate and it is what us Seuthhhh Efrikins call a "gangsta car", because only a gangster would drive a car like that. It just shouts "drugs, chicks and guns." So I was just wondering if there are any gangstas** on CP :-D * don't get me wrong, good car but it is not a Ferrari you know ** I like mags, no doubt about it. But they have to be tasteful and subtle. The worst is fancy mags on a boring car, especially when the car is actually hampered by such huge rubber. If your car looks fast, it must go fast. Otherwise don't make it look fast, you will be shown up for the chump you are at any interesection.

        Often see Merc 190s or 3-series BMWs with 'tasteful' wheels like that around here - often with the blacked out windows as well...mmm, nice! My pet hates in the 'car decoration' stakes are 3-spoke alloysespecially when the back wheels give you a nice view of the tiny little brake drums, again giving the game away that the car's not going to be able to pull the skin off a rice pudding! BTW - what do you drive to have 13" wheels on? My Alfa's not that hot & it's got 15" wheels. Don't Minis have wheels about that size :-D Stuart Dootson 'Java, Basic, who cares - it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippy cr*p'

          One of my neighbors pops into mind. He's got an old (80's?) Cadillac, dull silver, with some of the brighest mag rims in town, and nice shiney tires to boot. And to help maintain that extra coolness, the windows are tinted, almost to black. Very sharp!:~ BW {insert witty/thought-provoking saying here}

            Not a gansta but last week I fitted some nice new alloys to my car. There's a link to a pic of my car below. And before you smart arses say anything, I know it's a girls car or a hairdressers car or whatever but I absolutely love it. It's my first car and driving it this past summer has been absolutely fantastic. My Gay Car Cheers James

It is my first car and it is a Toyota Tazz. I could go for 14" wheels but then I have to get new mags and that costs a packet (easily R2500 plus another R2000 then for four new tyres. Seeing as my car is only worth R35000 it is not really worth it.) 15" would be a bit big on my car, make me look like a gangsta ;) Stuart Dootson wrote: again giving the game away that the car's not going to be able to pull the skin off a rice pudding! LMAO! Good saying, must remember that. The best is we get gangstas here driving Fiat Unos. They drop the ride height, put on the biggest, lowest-profile wheels and tyres. Then they put a massive spoiler on the back, tint the windows, put neon lights underneath the car and redo the front-grille. Now most of these Unos are 1litre cars and when going around a corner you can see the bodywork flex out of line! But no, the gangstas think they are cool. I love Q cars, the kind that looks tame but kicks super car arse.
