You do realize this happens during other presidencies as well right? This is not something that you should find amazing, shocking or even unusual.

I agree and good for you if you can study political science objectively. I recommend that you hit the library and study a little bit. Here is my recommended reading list. Plato's commentary on the "Five Regimes". This is pretty light reading but very obvious and should provide some jumping off points as well some of the variations on the theme that you are going on about. Jean Baudrillard and "The Precession of Simulacra". This is the deep end of the pool and is more of a critique and analysis of modern culture. I don't care for most of his other work but I'll give credit where credit is due and say that I think he is on to something here. And then, when you want to deal with some truly cynical stuff, take a look at Nietzsche's "Beyond Good and Evil". Again, this is the deep end of the pool. If Baudrillard and Nietzsche are a bit difficult to follow, warm up with Descartes. Don't just read the summaries on wikipedia. Spend some time with the books and form your own views. Happy Reading and enjoy the contradictions these works supply.

Learn as much as I can. Everybody should learn about politics and politician's plans, strategies, and agenda (public and private). what they do effects everybody. Here is a big nugget of information. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=103694193[^] NPR.org, April 30, 2009 · NPR has learned that Supreme Court Justice David Souter is planning to retire at the end of the current court term. Souter is part of the liberal wing and Obama will nominate someone liberal to replace him. No change.

Lucky for him, you'll believe anything. He just needs to put it in a grainy youtube video.
