According to a story I saw on TV around the time of "Wedding Crashers" (which had one of its oh - so - kewl protagonists claiming to have a purple heart) pretending to be a vet is so common that there's a whole cottage industry grown up around it where you can buy phony medals and the like.

I consider this to be an example of kind of information most of their claims are based upon. This isn't the first 'Iraq Veteran' they have relied upon to make some anti-War statement who turned out to be a complete phoney long after the lie had its intended affect. I think virtually every claim they make on nearly any subject can ultimately be traced back to some kind of an imposter.

I wouldn't necessarily argue, but if Carson were to post the same thing about the Republicans, I wouldn't necessarily argue either. It seems quite clear that truth is not high up on anyone's list of priorities in D.C.

It never has been and I would certainly agree that the republicans are as dishonest as anyone else. But in my view, our recent history has seen a disply of orchestrated dishonesty by a large, well funded and organized machine that is unmatched in American, possibly world, history. I think the rather routine dishonesty of the Bush administration motivated and justified (in the minds of its planners) a grossly out of proportion campaign of dishonesty in response that simply swirled out of control and is now beginning to implode upon itself.

I do not accept that entirely because... 1) I think W himself was an inherently honest guy. And, as with most such people, he was easily duped by those who are not. The only real question is, who was ultimately behind the duping? 2) The opposing party is fully empowered to uncover any dishonest that the Bush administration was responsible for and was loudly accused of by them. Yet, they are now coming up with every possible excuse to not do that. That seems very curious to me.
