Time to Legalize Counterfeiting

Because what's there to discuss? What you say, goes, right?

You are so funny. I feel bad for you, because I honestly believe that you think you're taking the moral high ground, when in fact, you're making yourself look pathetic and weak. 'I will not have my time wasted in discussing the things I post here, I'm better than you'. Go away then.

Wouldn't that devalue the currency? And what about exchange rates? IMO, such a scheme would only really work if most of the other MEDCs started a similar scheme. The legalisation of counterfeiting would effectively give everybody free (or almost free) money. What incentive is there to buy anything or to work when you get everything for free? In fact, what incentive is there to attempt to sell something when you know you could just print the money you'd get anyway instead? Not to mention hyper-inflation. My grasp on the world's economy is shamefully poor, but isn't the currency of a country dictated by the amount of gold they own? If one gold ingot is worth 400 times what it was worth a few days ago, wouldn't that be 40,000% inflation? And IIRC, that would make the USD 400 times weaker Incidentally, the last paragraph is just the remnants of some half-forgotten Wikipedia page. It could very easily be wrong or inaccurate
I didn't even read it, I decided I would not have my time wasted. If he'd been willing to discuss, I'd move past his quotes and read it all. But, I assume the article is not serious, it's really trying to attack the suggestion of legalising drugs.

That would be nice, but what evidence do we have that that is remotely likely ?

American Thinker: Time to Legalize Counterfeiting[^]
Many Americans today believe certain illegal vices in our society should be decriminalized, taxed, and regulated. The most popular of these vices include marijuana smoking, prostitution, and all forms of gambling. The proponents for decriminalization believe that the new tax revenues produced would help support schools, healthcare, and the impoverished, ease the pain of taxpayers, and reduce the deficit. They also believe that transgressions such as these will take place no matter, but, if properly regulated, would be safer for society in general. It would be a win, win situation. Unfortunately, when it comes to lowering taxes and helping the downtrodden, the best-laid government plans seem to fall short of expectations. However, there is one vice, one small illegal indiscretion, that, if decriminalized would solve all our problems. The United States needs to legalize the victimless crime known as counterfeiting. ...
I can verify this to be true by the fact that you have said it. In a manner of speaking.

What a self-oblivious fool you are. But the really amusing thing is that you seem to imagine that *I* must be oblivious to what you are.

:-D There are a few other gems. Like this[^] and this: IF 'materialism' is the truth about the nature of reality, THEN minds (or 'souls' if you prefer that word) cannot exist. BUT minds do exist. THEREFORE, 'materialism' (and 'physicalism,' and 'naturalism,' and 'atheism,' and 'agnosticism') is clearly seen to be false. (I can't remember where the second one comes from, sorry!)

I can assure you, I have an excellent sense of self. It doesn't matter how many shuriken-esque asterisks you use, how many times you use the words 'fool', 'imbecile' or 'liar', or how many times you try to say that you know what I am, you will never feature in it I've noticed you have answered my questions. In case you forgot:
- What brand of Christian are you
- Why do you return when so many people dislike you?

Of course; that's the point: you can't just print money without causing disaster.

'freak, That you may be a slightly less reprehensible embodiment (or, perhaps you just don't put as much effort into it) of the passive-aggressive mindset than Graus doesn't change that you are what you are. You want to act the way you want to act. Fine, do it. But then, you seem to expect that every one else, including me, your target, simply *must* buy into your silly little martyr game when I respond to you as you obviously wish to be treated. That doesn't wash.

He's not, he won't even TALK to me, so he can't have my brand. Oh wait, I see what you mean. The ignorant, self righteous kind, as far as I can see. He's sure not looking to shine any sort of light.

Because he's the brand of religionist who gets his strength from people rejecting him. It proves us unrighteous and him righteous. Jesus hated people like that.

 Consider yourself corrected. edit: Look, if you really don't "get" sarcasm/irony/satire/deliberate-absurdity-as-a-means-to-highlight-absurdity-posing-as-rationality, then there is nothing anyone else can do to teach you to get it.

It's Troy's brand that has made so many people decide that hell is where all the good company resides.
