      For an all American girl, I was disappointed she[^]was married so many times (wikipedia), but it's the perception she was the "archetypal sweetheart, wife and mother" I guess that was important.

        Hollywood does seem to operate on the belief that perception is reality. On the other hand, my nobody maternal grandmother was married 3 times, and my nobody paternal grandmother was married 4 times.
