This is from a news article I was reading. The US Justice Department criticized the ruling, saying it underscored the need to confirm President George W Bush's nominees to the federal bench. "In our system of government, it is the legislature elected by the American people which determines the proper punishment for federal crimes, not lone members of the judiciary," the department said in a statement. "Congress passed the Federal Death Penalty Act to save lives, and the Supreme Court of the United States has repeatedly said the death penalty does not violate the Constitution," it said, adding that it was still reviewing the ruling. It just seems like a crazed comment, no assumptions meant. Regardz Colin J Davies

Colin, what seriously scares me is that while GWB was governer of Texas he signed 122 death warrants. A quarter of those people were found to be completely innocent. What about the ones with bad lawyers ? Elaine (non fluffy topic) Would you like to meet my teddy bear ?
