First of all, I know how the atmosphere works. Second of all, I know how the greenhouse effect works. CO2 may not be an especially potent greenhouse gas, but adding it to the atmosphere will mean more heat is retained by the planet.

I'm guessing you didn't actually read any of the articles in there; am I right? And yet you're the one accusing me of failing to research properly.
