overpopulation

What makes you assume we want or need more people? I agree there are too many people, but that is not a reason to cattle them up, conquer them, sterilize them, irradiate them, and be forced live in an era that would make Nazi Germany look like a beautiful prairie. The simple fact is that people need to take responsibility on there own, with their own free will, with their own freedom to not have more than one child. We also need to block out all these immigrants so WE can use OUR OWN RESOURCES to support OURSELVES. If the rest of the world wants to overpopulate their lands and use up their resources then that is their problem. It doesn't have to effect everyone.

Never said anything of the kind, nor did I imply it. I just told a story of a tradition in an African culture.

Never going to happen. It hasn't happened universally before now or is it going to happen in the future.

The problem with thinking that is that we all live on one planet together sharing the same air. If one country fishes for all a fish in the ocean it leaves none for anyone else and that effects us whether or not we had anything to do with those harvests or not. Believe it or not but people in other countries are still people like you and me.

I will just say this. I will not tolerate anyone infringing on my natural organic rights nor will I submit to a borg like society in the name of the environment. I will not accept tyranny, but perhaps the problem of overpopulation will be solved through a genetically engineered virus where only the richest and small portion of the useful working class (slaves) will be permitted a vaccine beforehand. I'd rather not live at all than live in a world controlled by evil men, but I will die fighting them before I die of anything else.

I wasn't referring to the environment per say. I'm saying there's only so much to go around.

There is plenty. We have vast amounts of the natural life resources (Water, Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and so on). We have a nuclear reactor of an astronomical scale blasting us with massive amounts of energy which all life feeds on. The sun provides the energy for life's chemical reactions using the natural life resources (as stated above) which is all recycled. We can grow all the food we need. The basic natural resources are virtually limitless. The common theme of environmentalist is to cheapen human life to a point where we are like cockroaches. That is not the answer, it creates a host of new hellish problems.

Let me put it another way. Let's say your wrapping a present for someone and it took all the wrapping paper you had but you had another box to wrap. You'd need more paper right? Well I'm saying you can't use more paper because it doesn't exist. The paper are the resources and boxes are the people. Granted you can go to the store to get more paper, but that would mean introducing more resources into the system from an outside system, say outside our current ecosystem(space, another planet, etc).

Not all environmentalists are alike. I never got this impression. Groups like PETA aside there's nothing wrong with understanding and appreciating that

You think it is OK to view human life as cheap dirt?

I had been discussing with a friend of mine the time he'd spent overseas in the Peace Corp after he got out of college. He was using it to pay the bills and get some experience for his master degree later, but I'm digressing. He had mentioned to me that one of the culture's he'd come across removed one testicle from baby boys at birth so that they couldn't have as many children. Needless to say I was perplexed by this. Very much unlike here. He explained that they didn't have the resources to support such big families and that birth control was illegal. Both very practical reasons I would say. Thus brings me to my question of overpopulation in other countries. The US, from what I understand, has a pretty much 0% population growth due to births. according to this[^]In keeping with the idea that it takes a certain amount of energy, food, etc for each person that would mean that the US and any other country would have to come to a limit at some point. There is, after all, only so much that can be produced and consumed before we're out. Looking at a different statistic click here[^], you would expect us to have a 20 million, roughly, population increase every ten years. So where are these extra people coming from. If naturally born citizens aren't replacing dieing ones at an increasing rate, then the population increase must be from outside the US. I guess my point is this. Why do we need more people in the US or the world for that matter? At some point the bus(planet) is going to be too full to move down the street to get us where we want to be.

Clarissa, the USA - your great country - is using per capita more resources than the developing world. Europe as well is terrible for wasting the resources available. I do not have the references at work - I'm afraid they're accademic rather than conspiritist - but the developed world is using around 5-10 times the resources that the land mass it occupies can support. This is not some Gorey [sic] horror story but some simple maths based around the number of people and their life styles.
Panic, Chaos, Destruction. My work here is done.

Most of our resources come from overseas.

That does not work with me whatsoever. I know better than to fall into the mind trap of "Living kills, shame on you for being alive. Bow down to your government you pig." I'm trying to wake people up out of their propagandized ignorant slumber so they can really start to see how the powerful billionaires would kill off most of the population so they can inherit the earth with their 500 million slaves. The fact that people are going along with the climate change overpopulation thing makes it that much more realistic.

For this to work, you need to stop importing stuff.

Great idea, but do you really thing it will happen ? The US is the WORST at this. I see so many people here with 6 kids in tow.

Too bad if it's true, right ? Even if you reject the conclusions you're putting forward ( and I agree, you should, but, no-one actually said that you should think otherwise ), how does that change the facts ?
