Shog, someone quote from you the following: And if your dream is to care for your family, to put food on the table, to provide them with an education and a good home, then maybe suffering through an endless, pointless, boring job will seem to have purpose. And you will realize how even a rock can change the world, simply by remaining obstinately stationary.-Shog9 And each time I see this, I am confused about the second half of the quoting: And you will realize how even a rock can change the world, simply by remaining obstinately stationary. Could someone explain to me? this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.

Chris M stated it correctly; the quote was taken from a discussion some time ago on jobs, and whether or not working at a job you don't enjoy can have any purpose. My point was, it's nice to have a job that you enjoy and where you feel you're contribution has worth, but there are more important things, so you shouldn't necessarily feel worthless if you're stuck doing a job you don't like. I like Ray's answer too - it works quite well with the quote, actually. It's nice to see people getting some use out of my confused ramblings... :) Shog9 ------ If you really what to get shitfacde tell a crowded bar that is is yourt borthday and hife your wallet. you ka will many more friends.

I had a calculus teacher that couldn't pronounce a word of English - after 6 weeks not one of us had understood a word the asshole said. One student, a Canadian of rare brashness, stood up and screamed most eloquently at the fool for about a half hour without stopping for breath. When he was done, we all stood and applauded, then petitioned the Dean to send the bastard back to China. Problem solved, but we all had to take the class over, having learned nothing... I'm impressed by our astute friend for attempting to analyze and understand the things he finds here. We have such a diverse cultural representation here, and I wonder how many of us take advantage of that diversity to try to expand our knowledge of other places and peoples. Zhoujun does this often, and that I find to be a very admirable trait. Bravo!:-D Word of the day: Rotundacrat
