I reciently suggested that a certain CP member go to Tijuana and get a personality. <quote> You really need to go to Mexico and buy a personality. You can purchase them in Tijuana. They sell them right after the donkey marriage routine in most bars. If you catch the bouquet they will give you a discount on the personality purchase. BTW her name is Margareta. <quote> He obviously wasn't amused and started ranting that I insulted him. Is this a cultural sensitivity? In the US telling someone to go to Tijuana and get a personality is just a joke meaning don't take yourself too seriously. Obviously it was not taken as such. Is what I said such an insult that you would go into a rage and claim it a blood insult? If so let me introduce you to another American saying "get a life". :~

Jimmy, well intended comic joviality doesn't always travel well, with interpretative as some level of insult. Take that "Friends" TV Prog. Huge numbers fall over it in fits of laughter yet others (myself for instance) just don't see the comedy and consider it to be worthless drivel that can be insulting. Each to their own I suppose.

As I found out when this person took it as a blood insult. I am sure if dueling were an option he would have insisted on a duel. BTW I don't get "Friends" either. I tuned in for about 10 minutes once and have never returned.

To be fair I cleaned it up because some of the things I said were clearly not appropriate in the lounge. The original posts were a lot more offensive. My only excuse was that I was on a roll. After he reacted so badly to the Tijuana suggestion, which was made in jest, I smelled blood and a wounded ego ripe for abuse, and abuse it I did. I am not particularly proud of what I said but not ashamed either. It just would have been more appropriate here than in the lounge.

            Yes he was.

Growing up in Los Angelus, I used to go down there for a "personality" all the time, very lucky to have never gotten more then I paid for, medically speaking.

I love Friends! I am addicted to it, and I only started watching it in April this year. Chandler's the best!

Cheers, Vikram. (Proud to have finally cracked a CCC!)
