Help - Outlook backup file .pst
-
I have got a backup file for all my contacts but can't restore it. Outlook says i can't access it. Is this because i was working as a logged on user on my wins millen Ed PC Is it because i stored it on a CD rom which i closed not allowing additional re-writes...... I don't know, in either case i'm stuck and have hundreds of names and addy's in there. I have tried setting up my origonal PC loggin and various combinations but to no avail. ANY advice would be appreciated ! regards Justin

I use Outlook 2000 which you download a routine to backup your .pst files. Presuming you have a similiar option you should be able just to open both your live .pst file on startup and then also open your backup via the open menu in outlook. You can then use the File, Folder menu to copy contacts folder from your backup .pst to your live .pst. I would be enclined to copy your .pst file from cd-rom to your hard disk and make sure you have read/write/modify access to the file and directory you copy it to. Hope this makes sense and I appologise if you have already tried this. Good Luck:) George Pullar (Complete Beginner)
