Former academic named John and his cake

I think that fact that it was a fruit cake sums him up nicely ;-) Michael "Time and tide melts the snowman." -- The Doctor (Doctor Who: Time and the Rani
A fruit cake with spaghetti on it, no less. Mmm -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

awww c'mon. the twin tower cake has the appeal of technology (Planes! Flying!), Explosions (Kawumm!) and being "en vogue but not talked about".

:confused: serious: I don't know about the state in the states or australia, but it's hard to believe kids would start crying or be afraid when they saw the cake as it was described.

I'm pretty certain the kids have nothing to do with it. It's just that it's in very bad taste (no pun intended). "Freaking out the kids" is just an excuse that has some minor believablity, and avoids the fact that it really freaks out the parents. People do this all the time. I think calling him a jackass, would sum it up pretty well too. BW {insert witty/thought-provoking saying here}

I dunno how the kids over there feel now, but kids over here would consider a cake with a plane crahshing into anything something way cool. :confused: Or are the parents afraid of exactly that?

"The man said he had entered the cake in the show to stimulate debate about a possible U.S.-led war against Iraq" So of course, being the former academic that he is, a cake showing, for instance, planes bombing Iraq would have been unthinkable... In other news, i plan to stimulate debate on a local road construction project by baking a cream puff in the shape of a mangled corpse... :rolleyes: Shog9 ------ Crazy lady with the shiny shoes, where are you? Big deal a 12 inch high fruit cake !!! What about the constant hrs that media companies have thumped us with of twin towers images. Or the fact that more nooks have been published about it then Pearl Harbour. Get a grip !! Regardz Colin J Davies
