how can i copy a file that is being used by another app in mode exclusive?, is there a way to read it?, im using Windows 2000.

I personally love jv16 Powertools www.jv16.org[^] You can use the file tool to look for the file, then copy it elsewhere. It also does registry cleaning, secure file wiping, and a billion other things... i took a look at that program and it is great but it doesn`t read files that are in use with exclusive mode.

Can't. That's the point of it being open exclusively. To allow otherwise would be to create a huge security hole.
