An apple a day keeps cancer away.</blockquote> fluoride is added as health measure and has given you US citizens those wonderful teeth that you are so proud of, studies have shown that fluoride in <b>high </b> doses effect IQ after prolonged exposure, these doses are sufficient to be classed as pollution under current UK(and US) regulation, in short, like a lot of thing, given in low enough doses fluoride is safe and provides a benefit in health care, if you increase that dose until it reaches a level where it stops becoming an additive and becomes pollution the its starts to become harmful. Bromide ions (which there is no evidence of IQ effect - there is of reduction of sexual drive but that doesn’t seem to be an issue for the author)
