This won't touch on the content of his posts. A number of people here have repeatedly stated that they think CSS has genuine psychological problems. The people making this observation seem serious about it. And then the same people relentlessly goad and bait the guy. Troll-baiting is one thing, but if you genuinely believe the guy to be struggling to maintain his grip, what the hell are you doing increasing his level of stress? And it seems even more inconsistent that the main instigators are supposedly religious individuals. I suppose this is the sort of behavior one learns in church?

It's like an itch that I just can't scratch. When I see somebody so breathtakingly arrogant, I feel as if I have to do almost anything to bring them down to earth. However, now that I've thought about your post, I'll try to refrain where possible.

Did you accidentally initially post this as a reply to something I wrote, or is CP acting buggy?

I understand, and I don't mean to come across as some kind of holier-than-thou jerk. I'm just uncomfortable seeing him getting constantly beaten up for something which may not be really under his control. Of course if you think he's totally sane and just a complete butthead, that's a different story. :-D

Both. I initially posted it as a response to you, but then decided I wanted it more visible. And CP is definitely misbehaving at the moment.

Good question. In my experience, the answer is no. Of course, I haven't been in all churches. I take it you think that Christian is acting inconsistantly with how *you* think a Christian ought to act? I only single Christian out because Muslims don't go to a thing called a church.

Actually, I have tried hard to talk to him in the past, and have even offered to pay for a psychiatric evaluation session. I've done my best to try to help him. However, he's made clear he will NEVER set foot in such a place, I guess on some level, he knows what the diagnosis is. So if I can't get him help, I can at least try to keep proving that he is incapable of defending his views. I know sometimes I respond in anger, I never claimed to be perfect. And if I didn't work from home, I doubt I'd be bored enough to bother. But, at the core, I honestly have posted to him mostly because I feel sorry for him, and because I hoped I could help. So long as he chooses to not get help, and to just try to be part of society as he is, he's as accountable for his actions as anyone. His actions have included attacking the site in many ways. Talking to him in here, keeps him feeling he is getting attention, so he leaves the site alone.

Well, if you feel the tactics are appropriate I'll leave it at that. You've spent more time with him than I have. I'm still not convinced it's the best way to deal with it, but I've had my say.

Do they actually follow those religions, or are you just guessing based on their names? If the latter, tsk tsk... I don't presume to guess what faith those guys follow, if any, but remember that us atheists are all over the place, and we have all sorts of names, some of which might surprise you.

I don't know if the guy has actual problems... I think he just bought into the Ron Paul propaganda a bit too deeply, and needs to learn to open his eyes and look at more than one side of an issue. I've been TRYING to do this logically and rationally, since that's how my mind works anyway... No luck so far. I do think people need to stop breaking down and mindlessly cursing at him, because that just makes everyone look foolish and juvenile.

I wasn't sure of his motives; to me it appears to be simply messing with the guy for cheap thrills. And if the guy really is impaired, I'd think it was questionable morally. I used the example of a church becuase I knew it was specifically appropriate in this instance and wanted to call attention to the philosophical incongruity. I wouldn't think it was that hard to work out.

Honestly, the best way to deal with it is to ignore him. When I did that, he started to post the same stuff in the lounge. He won't accept my help ( as I said, I offered to pay for a session, and Mustafa offered to go halves with me recently when I mentioned it again ), and the best I can do, is try to contain him in here.

Yeah, I know. I saw that. Like I said above, I'm still not sure it's the right way to deal with it, but I'm not going to harp on about it.

Same here. I must be seriously bored to be up on a moral high horse.  Dangerous ground, and I'm not suited for it. :-D

I *always* try to have a rational discussion, he's the one who starts with the cursing, look at Dave's post below this one, he links to where he stepped in and made a valid point and CSS cursed him out, precisely because he had no rational response. He is plainly wrapped in conspiracy theories, but I think he is also plainly mentally ill. I mean, how could he not be ? He is at a minimum delusional, he's said he spends all his time alone, he is by any definition incapable of interacting with society.

Christian is pretty open about his philosophy and his involvement with his church. (Now that my feeble pretense of speaking generally has been dispensed with... ;) ) It's no secret. Really. Nothing sinister implied.

You try hard to sell me the idea of eugenics and then deny that you are a eugenicist because of some insignificant trivialization.

Its like that guy here a couple years back that tried to convince me that 1+1 in its most basic form does not = 2. I'm not that stupid, and I don't have all day to play stupid pointless mind games with you. Get a life, you are a sad individual to have to attempt to play with people's minds on the internet. You are a sociopath.
