Yes it's that time of year again! It's the annual Bob festival! :-D Last year during the October -> November period Bob's adventures were started with the release of the totally unnoficial short movie Bob's Big Night Out[^], depicting Bob's misadventures with alcohol and a goat rental firm. This year I have no film to announce as yet, though you may be in luck later in the year with a more toned down adventure staring our favourite web site's mascot (maybe a visit to the beach or something - I haven't decided yet), but I have introduced Bob into the h.a.s. rating signature version 2, as seen below all of my messages past and present. Now Bob will take on a pose to show the overall tone of my message, seperate to the individual ratings. This gives me more freedom with the anger and humour ratings and allows me to use both if appropriate whilst still being, say, humourous. Let's have a butchers[^] The usual rules apply: non IE users can suck for all they want but it ain't gonna come any time soon, you must mouse over my name to show the ratings, and you should not treat it religiously -- it is merely a quick guide to the tone of my message when I wrote it. Suggestions both for the new sig and the movie will be appreciated.

I thought you had given up on Bob forever, David. If you need any voice talent for the new movie, my rates are cheap. :)

I have jumped through hoops to keep the current images aound 2000 bytes - any more and it would take a noticable time to download, and for the person who inadvertantly mousesovers my sig area that would be unaceptable. As it is it takes about a qaurter of a second longer to download than my previous sig, and the four images only need to be downloaded once. In fact my "usual" rating of "0|0|4|o" only needs to be downloaded once to be used in about 90% of my messages. Now that is cool! One thing - the sig only loaded as I was getting to the end of the message, surely it shouldn't be that slow? I was wondering what you were talking about till Bob finally made his appearance! :-D

As Simon said, it is only triggered when you "mouseover" my sig area, not automatically.

Ten seconds?! :omg: X| Are you sure you are counting from the time you move the mouse over the sig area? Even if I delete the files form the cache it still only takes me just over a second.

Yes, after I move the cursor over the sig area, the progress bar on IE status bar begins to advance by jerks and after 8-10 sec the Bob pops out. Some narrow point on the way . Oh, but it turns out that his oil and gas weren't type-safe, so his pretty little sports car died. That means that he has to use the "scooter" which is really on loan from James Bond. It turns into a jet and he flies off to work...:-D Norm Almond: I seen some GUI's in my life but WTF is this mess ;-) Leppie: I made an app for my sister and she wouldnt use it till it was colorful enough:) Norm:good point leppie, from that statement I can only deduce that this GUI must be aimed at children:laugh: Leppie:My sister is 25:eek: -Norm on the MailMagic GUI

Instead the C# scooter runs on little tracks like a train. It's called the .TRACK framework, but it isn't installed in very many places because it requires more land than regular roads. David Stone wrote: It turns into a jet and he flies off to work.. Oh no, it's just that he made a mistake. Even the best of coders sometimes make mistakes. But it's much faster to make a vehicle that goes on these tracks because one doesn't have to worry about the gas and the oil. :-D Norm Almond: I seen some GUI's in my life but WTF is this mess ;-) Leppie: I made an app for my sister and she wouldnt use it till it was colorful enough:) Norm:good point leppie, from that statement I can only deduce that this GUI must be aimed at children:laugh: Leppie:My sister is 25:eek: -Norm on the MailMagic GUI
