To play the devils advocate, and as it is almost 4 am and I myself can barely stave off sleep: this is finally proof that drinking can save your life. :| Good thoughts for you and Ciarán. :rose:

 Geez, I'm glad that your friend and you are ok ! What a nightmare X| Cheers,Joao Vaz And if your dream is to care for your family, to put food on the table, to provide them with an education and a good home, then maybe suffering through an endless, pointless, boring job will seem to have purpose. And you will realize how even a rock can change the world, simply by remaining obstinately stationary.-Shog9

So.. Guess what happened last night??? [Please forgive me if my english and my spelling is a bit crappy.. I got very little sleep last night and I drank way too much coffee today :wtf:] My flat got robbed. Myself and my flatemate [Ciarán] were there. I luckily enough wasn't involved in any serious way. However the same cannot be said of Ciarán. He was really messed around.
So... 2:10 in the morning... I wake up to see a figure standing in my bedroom door.. wearing a grey hoody but I couldn't make out the face... I was kinda half asleep [] so I thought it was my brother after comming home from the night club and not so polietly asked "What do you want?"... a quick response of "Nothing" was given... fair enought... Brian lay's his head down to sleep.... 5 minutes later my flat mate comes running into my room shouting and screaming for me to lock the door, while he's grabbing my phone to ring the Gardaí [Police]... In those 5 minutes... ...Two men, fairly big, about 6 foot and stocky builds, walked into his room and dragged him out of bed. Robbed his watch [about €200], phone, wallet [With Credit Cards, Bank Cards and Cash] and some other stuff. They shoved a t-shirt [not my magerquark.de ones Uwe :-)] in his mouth and treathened to kill him... He was then brough outside [I was still in bed asleep at this stage :wtf:] where there were two more people waiting.. One said he had a gun but I doubt it.. [Guns are very hard to get over here].. and treathened to kill him, again, unless he pointed out his car, which he sensibly did. They were going to bring him up to the nearest ATM to make him withdraw money from his Bank and CC cards but Ciarán just kept saying that he'd give him the pin numbers, which he did, and when they were getting into the car he managed to get loose and run up to the flat... where he came into me... [Oh. .they also robbed some other stuff from teh flat.. PS 2 among the things] Anyway... we contact the Gardaí straight away and managed to get the Bank and CC cards cancelled almost instantly... Loads of other stuff happened after that that I can't really remember.. a bit of a blur.... Oh. Ciarán's car was a write off... completely gone... I have no idea how those bastards [forgive my language] walked away from the car alive. There was very little of it left after it was crashed.
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: So.. was you can see, Brian, who is now referring to himself in the third person for some strange reason, had a

This is why America doesn't ban firearms. Firearms were banned in Australia and crime rose...nearly 80%. What does this all tell you?

The way his luck is running, more likely he'll get mugged. Stay somewhere safe, Brian, like the pub! Can you think of any reason why they might have been more after your roomie than you? That might be a clue as to their identities... Ahh. .the good old pub  Roger Wright wrote: Can you think of any reason why they might have been more after your roomie than you? to be honest there is no reason at all. Ciarán knows very few people down here and it wasn't any of them. I'd say it was more thae fact that they were drunk and/or stoned and his room is the first in teh flat that you come across... Agreed. What would you do with a gun? *Pray* you're quicker on the trigger than your assailant?
