http://www.themercury.com.au/article/2010/02/04/125785_scalesofjustice.html[^] Some important facts 1 - the 'aboriginals' in this case, are white. Their pure blood aboriginal ancestors have to be many times removed, as the last pure blood Tasmanian Aborigine died over 100 years ago. They are in fact the offspring of white sealers and Aboriginal women from the 1850s. 2 - the artefacts in this case are some basic rock tools and piles of animal bones 3 - these people ignored the process of submission to protest, and waited to calculate the maximum cost to the Tasmanian taxpayer 4 - they did not seek serious discussion, but used it as a platform to ask to discuss 'government racism' and genocide. Now, I don't dispute that terrible things were done by the first white settlers. But, these people are professional victims. Government racism ? They turn a traditional means of hunting for food into a 'tradition' that must be honoured, and then expect the courts to wait while they run around killing defenceless birds that don't even taste any good ? Give me a break.
