Time for Obama to go 'gangsta' on GOP If there are members of your own party who stand in the way, such as Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Nebraska, then you also blast them and make them pay for acting so foolishly. Obama's critics keep blasting him for Chicago-style politics. So, fine. Channel your inner Al Capone and go gangsta against your foes. Let 'em know that if they aren't with you, they are against you, and will pay the price.[^] This article is pure black racism. I get that they would like an Al Capone Gangsta Dictatorship to punish the Christian Right and all who oppose the "top dog".

Since you have absolutely no understanding of what's going on, allow me to explain. 1) Obama is trying to appoint new people to positions in the government (Not elected positions) - Equivalent of hiring new employees. 2) Some senators, mainly GOP, are trying to weasel favors... Like, "I'm only going to approve this guy if you set aside $200,000 to build a new whatever in my state"... They call those "earmarks." This has nothing to do with whether the new person is qualified for the position. 3) Obama's getting sick of that crap, so he's threatening to appoint these people while the senators are on vacation (recess), so they don't have the opportunity to object. (They can vote to kick the guy out when they come back, I assume). This is just politics as usual, and the reason nothing useful ever gets done in D.C.

It's about seizing power as the Top Dog Chicago Thug and neutralizing his enemies.

The article merely states that Obama is ineffectual, and should behave more like a leader: that instead of attempting to work with the Republicans in Congress (a disaster), he should treat them as the political opponents that they are. It also states that he should stand up to those Democrats in Congress who actively oppose him. The summary: Obama's critics keep blasting him for Chicago-style politics. So, fine. Channel your inner Al Capone and go gangsta against your foes. Let 'em know that if they aren't with you, they are against you, and will pay the price. relates to how he should act towards his opponents in Congress, nothing to do with establishing a dictatorship, or attacking the Christian Right. Well, done. You have done Uncle Alex proud. Remove the Al Capone metaphor from its context, and deliberately misinterpret it. You have learnt well, grasshopper.

Of course. Because there's no "Christian Left". If you're really about liberty, you'd understand that the two party system is just one big government party. I have to say that the author probably had a poor choice of words in there, but really, isn't this article good for us? Doesn't it seem that the liberty movement is slowly working, and this author is mad along with Obama and many other Democrats?

True. It's still a sort of middle finger to congress, even it's completely permissible.

Side notes: Clinton had to do this with something like half his appointments since the republicans in control of Congress refused to actually confirm any judges that he would appoint. They cried foul the entire time while looking at stained dresses and accusing him of "Wag the Dog" tactics when he tried to use a tomahawk missile on some nutcase named Bin Laden... W did this plenty in the last 2 years (when Dems had control) and when he did no one cried foul. I love how CSS sees gangster and immediately thinks some black thug when Chicago is quite well known for Italian and Sicilian individuals having friends with wood chippers and cement trucks with shoe molds.
