Brian Delahunty wrote: Next you'll be asking me to give up Give up beer Brian... ;) Actually I tried cutting back on tea and coffee awhile back. Man I would rather have a class 3 hangover than the headaches I got from that experience. Still once I pushed through it was worth it. Also as others said, cut back on coke to, otherwise what is the point. Someone said soup would help, but for me it did not. I found drinking lots of water was best. Otherwise good luck and if you need anyone to lock you in your room ala Trainspotting just ask :-D

Ah.. as Paul said, it' like drink. Now strangely enough I can give up drink easily. I managed to go 4.5 months without any last year while still going out with my friends as much as usual. Coffee on the other hand is very addictive.. well to me anyway. Regards, Brian Dela :-)

I don't know about this - my Dad used to put whiskey in my milk bottle when I was a baby to shut me up  (when my mom was out of the room! :-D ) and I'm no worse for it... :~ ... or am I... :-O

Although it may take longer. My love for coffee only started this year (ok, I'm a slow learner), when I noticed the Starbucks in Canary Wharf on my way to the office from the tube. Perhaps Starbucks have more to answer for than we realise? Whatever, their mocha cappucino on cold days, and their mocha frappucinno on hot days (never leave the chocolate component out!) is, as you say, heaven in a cup :-D

Brian Delahunty wrote: well to me anyway Hmmm no, you are dead right. Good point in fact. But then again if I drank as much booze as I drink coffee or tea I would be comatose and probably never be able to kick the habit. Still it shows that coffee and tea are not the safe, acceptable drinks we think they are! (and it shows Starbucks is way smarter than any bar or club as they realise the dual sides of coffee in our society.) Brian Delahunty wrote: Now strangely enough I can give up drink easily. And the only regular drink I have is a tot or three of brandy with Janina's dad on sundays. But if I do go out then it is normally a bender. I have never understood people who drink in moderation.

Of course it's way smarter then all bars and clubs!!! Paul Watson wrote: I would never ever drink alone, just can't bear the thought. The only tim I have ever drank alone is when a few of my friends said they'd be ther ein 5 minutes and then didn't arrive for about an hour.... I had a few drinks while I was waiting. Paul Watson wrote: But if I do go out then it is normally a bender. I have never understood people who drink in moderation. What is this word "moderation" that you speak of. It does not computer in teh same sentence as drink!! If your ever over in Ireland call down to Waterford.. we'll go on a true bender!!! Regards, Brian Dela :-)
