I think you are doing your boss/client a disservice! Get hold of a book on database design, read a bunch of articles, have a wander through SQLServerCentral.com. Depending on the size if the business you are taking on a very large project, one that will take a skilled single developer a substantial amount of time to even understand the business requirements let alone the database design, etl management, data structuring, business logic layer and delivery interface. Good luck, you are going to need it!
