I didn't know Boy Scouts of America had things like this happening. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35944804/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/[^] The first thing that came to mind was how they were against homosexuality. Now I don't know if they think it makes pedophiles or something along those lines, but in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boy_Scouts_of_America_v._Dale[^] an eagle scout who went to college and came out of the closet was kicked out because of it. I suppose they have the precursor to the don't ask don't tell policy in the military. Since they're a private organization they can be as big a dick as they like, but they may play a role in diminishing their group if it doesn't change to meet the times. On the founder of scouts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Baden-Powell,_1st_Baron_Baden-Powell#Sexuality[^] That's called seagull management (or sometimes pigeon management)... Fly in, flap your arms and squawk a lot, crap all over everything and fly out again... by _Damian S_

They have a problem every few years. Your statement they are private organization is true however they have been in trouble over the years for various rules and regs as they get funding from the United Way. (or use to)

It's pretty unfortunate, but still funny, that the defendant's name is Timur Dykes. It leads to reporting like this. "The Portland case centers on whether the Boy Scouts of America did enough to protect boys from Dykes." I'm not sure what badge requires one to protect others from dykes. :)

Chris Meech I am Canadian. [heard in a local bar] In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is. [Yogi Berra]
