I did read somewhere that wikileaks is going to shutdown soon unless it get some investors onboard but it needs £250,000 a year to run....

I'd peg it as a rumor myself, it's come up a few times in the past with different amounts.

Wow... Recursive leaking... That's odd on at least three levels.

I've offered to pay for him to be diagnosed for years, but he refuses. I've considered taking some of the more explosive threads and showing them to a mental health professional as a poor substitute.

Excellent - when they do, I assume you'll be pleased because the only thing that passes for actual thought in your world is when one of your preferred sources tells you what to think about an issue.

I think this was a worth while leak (the only problem is all their color around it): We already knew the media guys were dead. We already knew that armed civilians moving around a hot combat zone were killed. We already knew the two children were diverted to the IP, not the US hospital. We already knew this happened at the height of the surge, in one of the deadliest months of the war. It shows we did not hunt down the media. It shows the gunner using restraint - he wants to kill the crawling wounded guy but stays within the ROE. This is a hot war zone, the Americans who drove up after the shooting had been fired on themselves shortly before the incident, but they are not treating it as a free fire zone, not even for armed Iraqis. It shows the concern of the guys for the kids (not for Iraqi men with weapons). What we don't know is why were the children sent to the IP. Was the US hospital full with US casualties? Was the Iraqi hospital closer? Was the commander just a dick?

We should start a "Willing to get CSS help" Group. I would be willing to pledge up to $500(US) to pay for his treatment. I could only swing $50 every two weeks, but that is about half a visit. I would place requirements on who treats him, though. I am not just willing to give money to anyone who claims they can stop his crazy raving, as I might encourage someone to shoot him, and then I'd be in a mess.

I never got to the point of establishing what I'd be willing to pay, but I could swing $50 a fortnight easily, so between us, we'd be able to pay for a visit a fortnight. Now we just need someone willing to pay for the meds, and for CSS to be willing to have his delusions and personality disorders treated.

Add me with $50 more every 2 weeks, that will help with the medications, but if he has insurance (that I doubt) he can get the meds cheaper

I think when people do a risk analysis, they will see that pledging a couple hundred is worth it. The chances are so low of him going that it is a free way to look concerned. But we are up to almost 300 a month, that will definitely get him into the doctors and start some meds. Some people seem to know a bit about him. Does anyone know what state or town he lives in? We could stretch that money further if the state helps towards meds, which are $$$. I bet there are local agencies that would be willing to help.
