With msoft dumping Netmeeting, what tools are fellow developers using to replace this. We use it on regular basis to host meetings among the team in conjunction with conference lines. Demoing applications and sharing desktop are necessary features we need. Dale

Running into this myself. Sadly, from what I have found, start considering the pay-for-use solutions. There used to be tons of freeware stuff out there (can't get the names right now) but from what I have seen recently they have all for the most part moved over to pay for use for anything over 2-3 users. Personally, while I was never a HUGE fan of Netmeeting I am not sure why MS did this. It always seemed like a cheap winner to include as part of the OS. I suspect that they decide to just leave this collaboration area open to the market now. One good open source attempt could win here. Just please don't make me host it on Linux :) Mind you I am not 'recommending them' but out of all the ones I have used recently when getting demos from other vendors, the GotoMeeting app seems to be pretty good. Costs seems a bit higher that I would like over the long term, but i guess that all depends on how much you really use it.

I know it seems a bit DIY, but could you just copy the NetMeeting EXE file and any other files it needs, across to the machines you want to use it on? EDIT: I found this on Wikipedia: The Windows Vista version of NetMeeting does not install and work properly natively on Windows 7. However, Windows XP Mode (a virtual XP computer running within Windows 7) can be used to regain all NetMeeting funtionality. Windows Meeting Space has also been removed. Microsoft SharedView requires internet connectivity, it does not work only over a local LAN.
