True, but I'm expecting a (very small) Tory majority. That said, maybe an electoral system shake-up would be a good thing. One thing I think is certainly true is that there's going to be the biggest turn out this election since '97 and possibly a lot longer still. That'd shove the polls into a cocked hat. We'll meet, sir, on the hustings!

Clegg certainly has got the interest of the young first time voters somewhat roused. Must have been that first TV debate that did that.

As an activist for the Tory Party, I very much doubt that.

Work with the local party, post the leaflets, on the knock and contribute time, money and effort. I am helping tomorrow to fetch people out to the voting centers and doing the 'running', getting polls back to central office, that sort of thing. This country needs to be shot of that fat bastard, and get a Conservative Government back in control.

It was, I believe, Flaubert, who, in 'Madame Bovary', said "inside every revolutionary is a policeman". And it was Robert Holmes who said "Every oligarchy gets the police force it deserves" You can take your pick as to which one applies in this case :)

Wasn't able to do that this time but was very active with my local MP to get him elected last time. Hopefully we'll finally get shot of Labour and get the country back to a reasonable state though I fear that whichever party wins inherits a somewhat poisoned chalice. Whoever gets in has to administer some pretty foul-tasting medicine, but at least the Tories are telling you this and getting the treatment started ASAP. I foresee a harsh four years, followed by an easing as they prepare for the next election in February 2015. (Standard ploy of incumbent governments, the Labour Party call them in the warmer, dryer months so that there is more chance of their supporters getting out to vote. The Conservatives call in the colder, darker, wetter times, as they tend to own better cars.)

A serious question - do you help fetch people to the voting centres regardless of who they support? I have deep misgivings about the Conservative party, almost as much as Labour by the way.

You target people. EG, if they have indicated they will be voting tory you offer them a lift. Unemployed people living in a tower block are not likely to vote tory, so they can F### off and walk, in the rain, uphill, bith ways, with no shoes, over broken glass etc etc etc

Are you totally insane? I have nothing against a Conservative Government, but led by this bunch of ninnies? For the first time in my life, there is no candidate that I would wish to represent me in Westminster: two schoolteachers, a guy who appears never to have worked at all, a crap constituency MP (who has twice failed in ministerial positions), a student, and what appears to be a milkman. I would have voted for any party that had been truthful about what is needed for our economic survival. But they all bleat on about 'Reducing the Deficit'. Yeah, right. Oh, bugger it! I suppose I shall have to vote for one of the school teachers, they at least have worked (after a fashion) and both have something other than B.Ed. Now, which is the one who doesn't look 12 years old, and has more than 2 expressions? Oh, Dear God! No, no! He's the bloody Conservative! Ah, well. Conservative it is, then. And thus, dear reader, are the fates of democracies decided.

You target people. EG, if they have indicated they will be voting tory you offer them a lift. Unemployed people living in a tower block are not likely to vote tory, so they can F### off and walk, in the rain, uphill, bith ways, with no shoes, over broken glass etc etc etc

------------------------------------ I will never again mention that I was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel. Dalek Dave

Spot on. I've always thought that anyone with an IQ under 110 should not be allowed to vote since they clearly won't understand what they're voting for.

And probably the most spoilt ballot forms.

Vote Lib Dem. Even if you don't agree with all their policies they represent the best chance of getting the electoral system changed for one where our votes are actually worth something and it's not a straight fight between two equally abhorrent entities.
