I guess Australia is a bit more prodish, French TV showed this at 8:30.

I think Brokeback Mountain has been on Australian TV before. I didn't watch it.

Mind you there is always sex on French TV. If a film has teenagers in it, you can bet that by half way through they are having sex. The funny thing is when the young actors get hardons, obviously not being so used to acting as their elders. Its funny how often one sees this come up in a filem.

Yeah, I have a feeling the Australian Broadcasting Authority would probably object to that.

I have always admired the relaxed approach to sex the continentals have. From Sweeden to France, they just get on with it without all the hand ups. Mixed saunas, mixed toilets (it common in France to have urinals and a sit down in the same WC shared by both sexes). Of ocrse the Germans are renowned for their love of naturism too. The British, and their offshoots are so repressed by comparison.

Homosexuals are sexually deviant. They are into sex in outhouses with total strangers, hotel bathrooms with total strangers, methamphetamine fueled street ally sex, viagra induced sewer sex, and so on.

You're just jealous because they have more sex than you. Actually the real reason you hate them is because you are scared to admit that you have homosexual tendancies and wish to disassociate yourself from these feelings by showing an outward hatred. C'mon, admit what we all know. You are Gay.

Joy. My previous wife was as mad as a box of rusty spanners but it gets a bit wearing after a while (too volatile - you never know where you are for more than 3 seconds at a time). She was a red head so I guess that explains it. :)

Then stop frequenting these venues. Because you're there, they assume it's what you want.

I've never seen it. A good movie that I actually watched today, though, was American Psycho. Really awesome. Have you seen it?

I found that the book (which was banned in NZ by the way), got me into his head much better than the movie.

All I have to say is I've never had a gay man ask me to commit suicide when I'd known them for less than two hours so 'We can be together forever'. Deviance in sex doesn't scare me all that much knowing what some idiots do in the rest of their lives. Hell, it makes things a bit more fun from time to time.

Have to say I thought it was a miserable load of crap. Look, gay sex is not that aggressive, and hetero men dont suddenly decide to take their co worker up the arse because they are drunk. They also dont punch each other either. The same way you dont punch your mates, of your wife, or have aggressive sex with her. Bellieve it or not, gay relationships are just like anyother and based on the same priciples; friendship and mutual respect. The fact that sex is involved is really a side issue. There you go Ian, that should keep you ammused.

Well, see, I disagree. I think ANY caricature of gayness is broken, because gay people are people, so will have the same variance of behaviour. Some men do beat their wives. Some people have aggresive sex. I don't doubt that it's possible that someone would 'suddenly' become gay, because they were gay all along, and they just have something happen that suddenly causes them to be who they are and not who they were pushed to be. I've never seen it, I'm just saying in general.

Please consider the fact that when you talk like that, it sounds like you're sharing all your fantasies. I saw an interview with George Michael at one point where he said 'well, yes, but if I was meeting a hot girl in a toilet block for sex, the guys would all be saying "right on!!!"'. I have to admit, he was right. Like I said below, gay people are people. Some may well be into some or all of the things you mention, but most hetero men, on some level, would like to be 'into sex with total strangers'. Hell, tons of them are. 'viagra induced sewer sex' does not happen anywhere, it's just something that crosses your mind when you get out the vaseline and the tissues.

What you say is reasonable, but not bourne out by my experience. The gays I have met, and I am talking about when I wasnt interested, have been without exception intelligent, humourous, gentle people. Perhaps I didnt meet the other kind who you think exit, but as far as I know, they arent as you think. As for your second statement its too dualistic. Its not about 'being gay' as much as life is not about 'being one thing or another'. Its not a decision, its an openness to experience. Its called living freely. Free to act as one wants without the cumbersome load of social mores. The very last thing one wants to do in life is to pidgeon-hole oneself by satating 'I am such and such', to do so limits your self expression, and this is where the film fell down. It was dualistic. It was extreme. And it isnt like that. To have or to be as From said. Or as Zen tells us, spontaneous expression is the closest we can come to expressing the inner Self. But that isnt a religion you will probably give credence too despite its obvious relevance to the human state.
