I second the Stella Artois choice. Kronenburg is pretty decent too, as is Becks.

I thought at least one belgian should reply to this posting. So as plastered as I am at 3 a.m. (local time) in the morning I would like to recommend a brown 'leffe'. Leffe is an international beer brand which is distributed by Interbew, the second largest international brewer in the world, which happens to be a belgian companay (they bought also canadian labat, ...), 'leffe' is a genuine belgian brown abbey beer with a mild sweet taste, ... I don't know how to describe it... well it just tastes for more...untill you think you had too many...

How about some Rogue Mocha Porter, Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, Caffrey's or Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout (I like Sammy Smith ... and it's about time to get some Sammy Smith Winter Welcome if you can find it unskunked). Cheers! Bill RateBeer.com (http://www.ratebeer.com) P.S. Sorry, had to get the shameless plug in there. It's not often that I visit codeproject or other dev sites and I find a beer thread :>

Chris what are you doing recommending Crown Lager? This is a cruddy repackaged Foster's which you denigrated (and rightfully so) in an earlier post. Coopers Sparkling Ale or Extra Stout are by far the best Aussie beers going around. Guiness is great and as for Kilkenny, I tried Kilkenny Red in the Black Rose in Boston and didn't miss my stride when I went back to Guiness. Therefore Kilkenny Red must have been a bloody good beer as well. Michael Martin Pegasystems Pty Ltd Australia martm@pegasystems.com +61 413-004-018

To come up with some German beer: very tasty are Jever, Becks and Hoevels. Sure, there are lots of others, but these are my "local" favorites. My "give me plenty of it" favorite is Guinness :-) Cheers, Tom.

You guys should come to Prague or better Plzen (this is where the Pilsner comes from) to get a decent beer! I'm just on the way to the fridge... :-D Best wishes, Matthias

There should be a law against "software engineers posting comments under the influence of ethanol..."
